Keep your dates locked this September 28th & 29th as Movenpick hotel is hosting its “Mövenpick Wedding fair “ for the second consecutive year, reflecting on its newest theme of ‘Curiously Intimate’.

Twenty eight hand-picked partners from the industry are invited to create and transform the spaces allocated to them to make this event a success once again. The exhibitor list includes Charini Suriyage, Celebrations with Yasmin & Heshran Wedding Decor, Two Rings, Studio U, Nadun Baduge, Melache, KR Designer Bridal, Kingsman Studio, Hameedia, Fashion Fabrics, Caked by Amna, Michael Wijesuriya, The Wedding Project, Weddings by Shero, The Flower Place, Shine by Sanjeewani, Frances Decor, Wedding Connections, Elegance by Design, Stone-N-String, Sifani, Alankara, Robed Gift Works, Estheti Centre and Colombo Card Factory.

Sri Lankan Airlines is the official Airline Partner while Brides of Sri Lanka will once again partner up as the event’s exclusive bridal magazine. ODEL Home will be one of this year’s sponsors together with Softlogic Life and Pulse has come on board as the official online media partner.

Padmi Fernando, Director Sales & Marketing says “What’s new this year is we use 4 floors of the hotel to showcase, so you will get to see more activity and engagement with the people in the industry.” Adding to this Padmi also states that “there will be a colorful Indian theme in the lobby level and our rooftop will showcase a stunning setup of a wedding which visitors can witness and visualize their dream wedding”

During this revival phase in the tourism industry, Movenpick hotel stands committed in promoting tourism by adding an element of tourism into this event. As explained by Padmi Fernando, “We’ve partnered with Sri Lankan airlines in bringing down Five international wedding planners, and they will get to familiarize the destination, get to understand the creativity available in our industry to have destination weddings.”

The aim of getting down the international wedding planners is for them to familiarize with the locations and venues as a means of promoting Sri Lanka as a wedding destination. The public did not relate to movenpick hotel as a wedding venue, yet the success of this wedding show has enabled the hotel to move in to the wedding market gradually.

Speaking to one of the partners at the wedding fair, here’s what Natalie of Esthèti Centre has to say “We are very excited to get on with the bridal campaign. We are looking forward to meet more brides and giving them skincare routines

Further speaking with Christina Alphonsus of Sothys Sri Lanka states that “we are looking forward to discuss all of our packages and we are super excited to share it everyone who’s coming”

Joining as the official magazine for the second consecutive year, we got in touch with Nelum Haththelle who also shared her views “Last year was a huge success and the turnout was awesome, so we are excited to be partnered again and we are looking for an even better response this time”

Joining in fairly new to the industry is Abdullah Aslam of Kingsman Studio and he is “looking for more exposure as we are start-up, so I thought might as well go for it”

The public will be open for raffle draws that will take place on both days with partners who’ve generously provided with attractive gifts. A unique wedding offer will also be unraveled on location for any future bookings made on the same day.

Spread the word to friends and family, make it a date to witness this intimate affair.
